Journal 3

In Marcelo Gleiser’s article “Is an Identical Copy of You, You?” the author states that dying for a copy of himself is unacceptable because a perfect copy is impossible to realize.

I agree with the author on his statement in the article that perfection is only a kind of concept guiding. Good or not question is measured by comparison, which means we must have a measurement tool to compare and say if the thing is good or not. It’s same for perfection; however, we don’t have one. We cannot easily consider a thing as perfection without any strong verification. In addition, we all know that physical copy is relatively easy to achieve compared with a mental copy because the things in mind are far away from a set of data. Can scientists copy our mind is still debating.

Even though scientists succeed creating a perfect copy, it’s still a fail at the next moment because they won’t do the same thing, and tons of differences like these can result in two different people after a short period of time. We all know that the unlimited imagination makes human creative. The opposite statement is also true that the creativity of humans make people’s action unpredictable because people’s thinking is unlimited. The copy of characteristics and experience doesn’t make any sense because they will be different at the next second because they will update their experience which is surely different. That’s why each of our humans is an identified individual.
